Fr. Sebastian is the only priest buried in St. Joseph Hill cemetery.  His grave sight is located at the memorial pictured left.

1969– 70 Rev. Eugene Suding, Rev. Philip Bond, and Rev. Joseph Mort served consecutively as associate pastor.

1961 The United States enters the Vietnam War, which lasts until 1975.

1962 Pope John XXIII opens the Second Vatican Council. Of the four sessions, he presided over the first, while Pope Paul VI presided over the last three after Pope John XXIII's death.

1969 Neil Armstrong first man to walk on the moon.

1968 New school zoning enacted requiring children in Floyd County who attended St. Joseph Hill school to attend a Floyd County school such as Grantline Elementary.

1970 Fr. Edmund Banet became pastor. 

 

CCD classes were in progress and a Parish Council was created.

In 1970 St. Joseph Field ballpark was built by the Men’s Club.

Ground was broke for the Parish Hall in September.  Much of the time, materials and labor was done by parishioners.

1976 Fr. Thomas Stumph was named pastor, until his passing in 1981.

1974-76 Fr. Pete Martich and Fr. Wilfred Day served at St. Joseph Hill.
